Impact Hernandez never pitched for the O's after being acquired from the Red Sox in January. He did post a 2.96 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 27.1 frames at Triple-A Norfolk, although that came with his usual control problems with 19 walks. Some team will take another shot on his big left-handed arm, but it surely would be on a minor-league deal.

Impact Hernandez had been acquired from the Red Sox last month but lost his spot on the 40-man roster when the O's traded for Cole Irvin last week. Hernandez will still be in major-league camp this spring as a non-roster invitee. He has a robust 32.3 percent strikeout rate in his major-league career but has been held back by a 17.7 percent walk rate.
