Short outing in loss Kremer (0-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, surrendering three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five over three innings.
Impact Despite working his way into a first inning jam by loading the bases with no outs, Kremer struck out the next three Yankees to finish off the inning blemish-free. After Veteran Jay Bruce got to Kremer in the second inning with a solo home run, the 25-year-old held it together until the fourth, when he walked three straight batters, prompting his exit from the game. Kremer debuted in the majors in September, going 1-1 with a 4.92 ERA. He then struggled with command during Spring Training, issuing 12 walks in 18.2 innings. He'll look to turn things around Monday at Seattle.

Impact Kremer is scheduled to take the ball for the Orioles' fifth game of the season April 6 in New York against the Yankees. The 25-year-old righty showed the ability to make bats miss (22 strikeouts in 18.2 innings) in his first taste of the big leagues last September, but control (12 walks) was a concern. With that in mind, Kremer is best viewed as a late-round flier in AL-only leagues or as a streaming option when the Orioles are opposing a weak offense.

Settling down recently Kremer has allowed four runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out eight over 7.2 innings during three spring starts this year.
Impact All four of Kremer's appearances with the Orioles last year came as a starter, and he's worked exclusively as a starter this spring. The right-hander appears to be building up for a rotation role to begin the regular season, but manager Brandon Hyde hasn't yet indicated which pitchers will serve as starters early in the season. Hyde has said that the team has "10-to-12" pitchers who could serve as starters, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. Kremer will start Friday's Grapefruit League game and could have one or two more spring appearances before presumably beginning the year as part of the starting rotation.
