He joins the active roster with Akil Baddoo (quadriceps) hitting the injured list, though it's likely Kerry Carpenter who will be the biggest beneficiary of Baddoo's absence.

Eric Haase - Remains on bench Haase will sit for the second straight game Saturday against Arizona.
Impact Haase seemed to be moving ahead of Jake Rogers on the Tigers' catching depth chart, starting seven of 10 games during a stretch which ran from May 24 through June 3. In the six games since then, however, it's been Rogers who's started four times. Rogers has now made 33 starts behind the plate to Haase's 29 this season, but Haase still has more playing time overall thanks to his 10 starts in left field and two at designated hitter.

Kerry Carpenter - Starting in left Saturday Carpenter is starting in left field and batting third in Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Impact Carpenter returned from the injured list Friday after being out with a shoulder strain since late April and served as the DH. He'll now move over to left field with Akil Baddoo (quadriceps) landing on the IL himself Saturday. This could be an opportunity for Carpenter to see more regular playing time in the field moving forward.

Impact Baez went deep in the ninth inning for just his fourth home run of the season through 58 games played. He had just 17 long balls last year, which were his fewest in a full season since 2016. Baez may struggle to even get to 17 home runs this year, and so far his time in Detroit has been fairly underwhelming, as his fantasy production has fallen off.

Akil Baddoo - Lands on injured list Baddoo was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right quadriceps Saturday.
Impact Baddoo suffered the injury Friday against the Diamondbacks. He went 1-for-21 at the plate in the month of June prior to suffering the injury, though that followed an encouraging May in which he hit .294/.392/.485 with as many walks as strikeouts. The Tigers have yet to provide a clear timetable for his return. Nick Solak was recalled to take his place on the roster, with Kerry Carpenter set to serve as the left fielder Saturday.

Jake Rogers - Two solo home runs in loss Rogers went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 11-6 loss against the Diamondbacks.
Impact Rogers has appeared in 39 games (120 plate appearances) and continues to be an all-or-nothing offensive player while operating as the backup catcher behind Eric Hasse. The former has just 18 hits on the season, but 12 of those have gone for extra-bases, including eight home runs. Friday's performance was the first multi-homer game of Rogers' big-league career.

Michael Lorenzen - Struggles versus Arizona Lorenzen (2-3) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over 6.2 innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out three.
Impact Lorenzen tied his season high with six runs allowed and suffered his third loss, but he was still able to complete at least six innings for the sixth time over his past seven starts. During that stretch, he's posted a 2.74 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB over 46.0 innings. Lorenzen has been a hit-or-miss play thus far, allowing 22 runs across four of his starts (21.1 innings) while giving up just three earned runs over his other six appearances (38.2 innings). The veteran will look to get back on track in his next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for the finale of a three-game set versus Atlanta.
