Riley Greene - Records first big-league steal Greene went 0-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 11-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Impact Greene was held without a hit for the third time in his first eight big-league games, but he was still able to get involved in the offense. His steal Sunday was his first in the majors after he logged four in 17 contests in the minors this season. He had 16 steals in 2021, so there's some speed in the young outfielder's game. Overall, he's batting .250 with two RBI and six runs scored, but he's yet to knock an extra-base hit. As long as he remains with the Tigers, he'll get a look for regular playing time in center field on a rebuilding team.

Eric Haase - Launches three-run blast Haase went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 11-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Impact Haase's fifth-inning blast briefly gave the Tigers a one-run lead, but their offense stalled out after that. The catcher is finishing June strong -- he's gone 11-for-33 (.333) with four multi-hit efforts in his last 10 games. He's up to a .216/.266/.371 slash line with four homers, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 124 plate appearances. Tucker Barnhart is just 2-for-19 (.105) in his last seven contests, so Haase's hot hitting could allow him to see an uptick in playing time.

Beau Brieske - Chased in fourth inning Brieske allowed five runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Impact Brieske had trouble in the third inning with a solo home run from Carson Kelly and a Christian Walker sacrifice fly. The struggles continued into the fourth, as Arizona scraped together three more runs, all of which went onto Brieske's line after reliever Alex Lange allowed two inherited runners to score. The Tigers' offense bounced back to get the rookie starter off the hook, but that was the only silver lining from another ugly start. Brieske has allowed at least four runs in three of his last six outings, and he now owns a 4.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 43:20 K:BB through 63.1 innings in 12 starts. With two off days next week, he should have an extra day to regroup before a projected home start against the Royals.

Matt Manning - Increases throwing distance Manning (biceps) has resumed throwing off flat ground from 90 feet at the Tigers' spring training facility in Lakeland, Fla., Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact The 24-year-old has already spent more than two months on the 10-day injured list, and he may have a tough time making it back before the All-Star break even though he hasn't been shut down from throwing. He still has to increase his long-toss distance before advancing to mound work and then facing hitters before the Tigers send him back out on a rehab assignment. After previously making four rehab starts with Triple-A Toledo in May, Manning was pulled off the assignment while he was pitching through biceps tendinitis. He was initially placed on the IL due to right shoulder inflammation.

Daz Cameron - Reinstated, sent down Sunday Cameron (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
Impact Cameron spent over two weeks on the COVID-19 IL for contact-tracing-related reasons, but he began a rehab assignment in Toledo on Thursday. The 25-year-old went 2-for-10 with a walk and four strikeouts during his rehab stint and will remain with the minor-league club now that he's been reinstated.

Barnhart will give way to Eric Haase behind the dish in the series finale with southpaw Dallas Keuchel on the bump for Arizona.

Javier Báez - Two more hits Saturday Baez went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Baez was also caught stealing for the first time this season in four attempts and was picked off first base, too, so his stat line could have been better. This was actually a pretty tame performance for the shortstop compared to other recent results. He crushed a grand slam Friday and homered in his two games before that as well, recording seven total RBI across the three contests. Baez can be a streaky player, but when he's in a groove, he typically delivers elite fantasy production. It looks like he's in a groove right now.

Impact Following four innings from starter Alex Faedo, Alexander navigated the fifth and sixth. The lefty pitched well, and he's starting to look better after a rough start to the season. Alexander had an 8.76 ERA across 12.1 innings before landing on the injured list in early May with a left elbow sprain. Since returning June 13, he has a 1.13 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over eight innings of work. Alexander was a valuable pitcher for the Tigers in 2021, registering a 3.81 ERA across 41 appearances (15 starts), and he may be returning to that form in 2022.
