Ryan Kreidler - Nursing sore hand Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Kreidler hasn't played for Triple-A Toledo since Sunday due to a sore right hand, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Impact Kreidler initially fractured the hand in late April and underwent surgery before he made his return to the Triple-A lineup May 27. However, he appeared in just two games for Toledo before his hand started bothering him again. The setback doesn't seem to be a significant one for Kreidler, but he could miss a few more games until the discomfort in his hand completely subsides.

Elvin Rodriguez - Cleared to make next start Rodriguez (lower body) is listed as the Tigers' scheduled starting pitcher for Friday's road game against the Yankees, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Impact After striking out four Guardians through four scoreless frames in his second career MLB start last Sunday, Rodriguez was pulled in the fifth inning after developing lower-body cramping. The right-hander is apparently feeling fine again after some rest and getting rehydrated, so he'll be in the clear to make his third turn through the rotation this weekend. Detroit still has six other starting pitchers currently residing on the injured list, so barring an implosion in New York, Rodriguez should have a good chance at sticking in the rotation beyond this weekend.

Castro doesn't offer a ton of power or speed, but he should have some fantasy value as long as the playing time is there.

Impact The 20-30 Tigers aren't garnering a lot of buzz, but Skubal is certainly worthy of attention at the moment. The lefty now has a sparkling 2.15 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61 strikeouts across 58.2 innings. Skubal showed signs of a breakout last season, especially with his 164 strikeouts across 149.1 innings, but the 25-year-old has taken it to another level in 2022. He'll look to keep it rolling in his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Pirates.
