Zach McKinstry - Scores twice in offensive outburstMcKinstry went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Sunday's 14-9 win over the Rockies.
ImpactMcKinstry was a bit overshadowed on a day the Tigers hit five home runs as a team, including two grand slams. However, he still provided a nice contribution from the leadoff spot. McKinstry now has two straight two-hit efforts and is batting .323 over his last 10 games. He should have fantasy value as long as he's locked in at the plate and batting first for Detroit.

Harold Castro - Tallies three hitsCastro went 3-for-3 with two runs scored in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Tigers.
ImpactCastro had gone 12 games without a multi-hit effort, batting .250 (7-for-28) with a home run and four RBI in that span. He played well Sunday, twice coming home on sacrifice flies from Brenton Doyle. Castro is batting .281 with a .643 OPS, one home run, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored and eight doubles through 179 plate appearances this season. He's on the strong side of a platoon at second base, sharing the position with Coco Montes.

Ryan McMahon - Homers in lossMcMahon went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Tigers.
ImpactMcMahon saw a five-game hitting streak end Saturday and nearly came up empty again Sunday if not for his eighth-inning blast. He went 11 games between homers, hitting a paltry .175 (7-for-40) with a 6:17 BB:K over that span. Despite the quiet stretch recently, he's been quite solid since mid-May. The infielder is up to 13 homers, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .263/.346/.477 slash line through 83 contests overall.

Randal Grichuk - Swats third homerGrichuk went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Tigers.
ImpactGrichuk has hit reasonably well of late, going 13-for-44 (.295) over his last 12 contests. In that span, he's added two homers, four RBI and three doubles, though he's also struck out 14 times. The outfielder hasn't hit for much over-the-fence power in 2023 -- his long ball Sunday was his third of the year in 50 contests. He's slashing .293/.356/.436 with 19 RBI, 29 runs scored, one stolen base, 16 doubles and one triple through 207 plate appearances.

Connor Seabold - Tagged for three homersSeabold (1-5) allowed eight runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Tigers.
ImpactSeabold gave up a grand slam to Javier Baez in the first inning, and additional homers to Kerry Carpenter and Jake Rogers accounted for the rest of the damage. The long ball has been a problem for Seabold lately -- he's given up a combined eight homers over his last 13 innings while losing three straight starts. He's now at a 6.62 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 50:21 K:BB through 66.2 innings over 18 appearances (11 starts). The right-hander is projected for a road start in San Francisco in his next outing.
