ImpactJax got the unconventional save by tossing three innings in a lopsided affair. After making 14 starts last year, the righty has pitched entirely in relief for the Twins in 2022. Thursday's three-inning save was his longest appearance of the season and first save at any level in professional baseball. He's allowed two runs and has 11:3 K:BB in nine innings of work on the campaign.

The bad luck with the counting stats aside, Grossman has still been playing well lately, as he's now batting .327 this season, which leads the team.

ImpactThe Tigers committed four total errors in this one, which certainly didn't do Skubal or the three relievers any favors. The lefty now has a losing record but has pitched well overall with a 3.05 ERA and 20 strikeouts across 20.2 innings this season, so wins should come if he gets more run support and some better defense behind him. Skubal will look to even up his record in his next scheduled start Wednesday against an exploitable Pittsburgh lineup.
