Teoscar Hernández - Launches 14th homerHernandez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 5-3 victory against Detroit.
ImpactHernandez slugged a 424-foot shot to center field in the sixth inning to give the Blue Jays a 5-3 lead that held up for the remainder of the contest. The long ball is his only hit over his past four games, during which Hernandez has gone 1-for-14. He hasn't quite matched his production from his breakout 2020 and 2021 campaigns, but Hernandez has registered a solid .270/.321/.485 slash line with 14 homers, 49 RBI and five steals over 315 plate appearances on the season.

Jordan Romano - Secures another saveRomano earned the save against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in one scoreless inning.
ImpactRomano was asked to protect a two-run lead, and he needed only 12 pitches to close the door on Detroit. The right-hander did give up a single -- the first baserunner he has allowed over his past four appearances -- but cruised to his third save since the All-Star break. Romano has allowed only one earned run across nine outings in July, picking up six saves and one win while posting a 10:1 K:BB over 9.2 frames.

Ross Stripling - Can't get out of fifth inningStripling did not factor in the decision against Detroit on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings.
ImpactStripling breezed through four scoreless frames before running into trouble in the fifth. He allowed the first three batters in the inning to reach base, then gave up a sacrifice fly before being pulled for Adam Cimber. Cimber allowed one more run to score but otherwise contained the damage to preserve Stripling's four-game streak of allowing two or fewer runs. Stripling has pitched pretty effectively for Toronto, but he's exceeded five innings only once in his past six starts.
