Solid start against Yankees Rasmussen allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings Wednesday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Rasmussen allowed a pair of solo home runs but otherwise held the Yankees in check. After having his workload limited during a brief stretch in July, Rasmussen has now turned in three consecutive quality starts. He's allowed only four runs (three earned) across 18 innings in that span, maintaining an excellent 15:2 K:BB.

Notches win No. 10 Rasmussen (10-5) earned the win over the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks while striking out five batters over six innings.
Impact The only earned run Rasmussen allowed came on a Lawrence Butler solo shot in the third inning. The righty hurler was otherwise sharp and efficient, throwing 58 of 76 pitches for strikes en route to his second straight quality start. Pushing that out further, Rasmussen hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his past seven starts, posting a 2.08 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB across 30.1 frames during that span. He's one of just 14 MLB pitchers to reach double-digit wins on the campaign so far.

Strong start wasted Friday Rasmussen came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners, scattering four hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.
Impact The right-hander put up nothing but goose eggs for the second straight trip to the mound, firing 55 of 79 pitches for strikes in his fifth quality start of the year, but Rasmussen saw his 10th win slip away when Griffin Jax melted down in the eighth inning. Rasmussen has worked at least five innings in three straight outings and thrown more than 70 pitches in four straight as the Rays ease his workload restrictions while trying to stay in the AL wild-card picture, and since the All-Star break he sports a 1.77 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 20:3 K:BB over 20.1 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week against the A's.

Blanks Dodgers for ninth win Rasmussen (9-5) picked up the win in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Dodgers, scattering four hits over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
Impact Los Angeles didn't even get a runner into scoring position against Rasmussen, who fired 51 of 73 pitches for strikes before being lifted a couple outs shy of his fifth quality start of the season. The right-hander continues to have his workload monitored by the Rays and hasn't tossed at least six innings since June 8, posting a 3.93 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB in 36.2 innings over his last nine outings. Saturday's performance suggests the plan is paying dividends, and Rasmussen is scheduled to make his next start on the road next weekend in Seattle.

Collects eighth win Rasmussen (8-5) earned the win Monday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings.
Impact The Tampa Bay righty picked up his first win since June 25, which is also the last time he threw five frames. The Rays have been throttling Rasmussen's innings lately, as his season total now stands at 100.1 after tossing just 73.1 frames over his previous two seasons due to injuries. It didn't look like Rasmussen would qualify for the win after walking home two runs in the opening frame; however, he settled in after and conceded just one additional run over four scoreless innings to wrap his 81-pitch outing. Rasmussen will carry a 2.96 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 87:25 K:BB into his next start against the Dodgers at home this weekend.

Tosses four innings Rasmussen allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out five in four innings Tuesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Rasmussen went nine up and nine down to open the game but ran into some trouble in the fourth. He allowed a double, two singles and a walk before a sacrifice fly plated a second run in the inning for the White Sox. Rasmussen exited after tossing 75 pitches, which was his most in an outing since he threw 92 June 19. The team reported before the All-Star break that Rasmussen was expected to handle a typical starter's workload when making his next turn through the rotation, but it seems manager Kevin Cash is still being somewhat cautious with Rasmussen's pitch count. He lines up to toe the rubber again next week on the road versus the Yankees in what should be a two-start week for the right-hander.
