Summoned to big leagues The Yankees recalled Ellis from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Impact Rather than summoning top prospect Jasson Dominguez from Triple-A to bolster their outfield in September, the Yankees will instead turn to the 26-year-old Ellis, who has bounced around between four organizations in 2024. The Yankees are presumably still keen on giving Dominguez regular at-bats until the Triple-A season ends, whereas Ellis profiles as a more traditional bench option. Ellis has posted a weak .651 OPS across his various stops in the minors this season, but he's capable of playing center field and represents an ideal late-inning pitch-running option. He has compiled 51 stolen bases between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2024.
