Slated for MLB debut Monday The Nationals are expected to call up Crews from Triple-A Rochester to make his major-league debut Monday against the Yankees, Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan reports.

Impact The No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Crews has slashed .272/.343/.456 with 13 home runs and 25 stolen bases between Double-A Harrisburg and Rochester. He's collected a .908 OPS so far in August. Crews has split his time between center field and right field of late and could be used in both spots with the Nationals.

On track for 2024 debut Crews seems likely to make his big-league debut before the end of the season, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Impact Moved up to Triple-A Rochester on June 17, Crews hasn't exactly dominated the highest level of the minors yet, slashing .253/.306/.407 through 20 games with three homers, five steals and a 19.4 percent strikeout rate that's actually an improvement on his 23.8 percent mark at Double-A prior to his promotion. The second overall pick in the 2023 Draft has flashed his upside though, and the Nationals are likely to want him to get his feet wet in the majors in September ahead of of probably starting job in 2025. Should Lane Thomas be shipped out at the trade deadline, it could open up a spot in the big-league outfield for Crews sooner, but the team may also want to keep his rookie status impact for next year in the hopes he earns the Nats a bonus draft pick.

Moving on to Triple-A The Nationals promoted Crews from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Crews missed a week and a half of action with a hamstring injury and was sitting on a .664 OPS at the end of April, but he picked up the pace thereafter to earn his way to Rochester. From May 1 onward, the 22-year-old outfielder slashed .292/.359/.474 while contributing three home runs and 13 stolen bases and striking out at an acceptable 19.2 percent rate. In Rochester, he'll be part of an outfield that will soon include another elite prospect in James Wood (hamstring), who is expected to begin a rehab assignment with one of the Nationals' lower-level affiliates this week before returning from the 7-day injured list.

Heating up in May Crews is slashing .310/.379/.569 through 17 games in May for Double-A Harrisburg with one homer, four steals, eight runs and 16 RBI.

Impact The second overall pick in the 2023 Draft is finally showing a spark at the plate for Harrisburg after batting just .207 (25-for-121) through his first 32 games at Double-A dating back to last year. Crews has also gotten his strikeout rate under control, posting a 21.2 percent K rate in May after flailing away with a 37.0 percent mark in April. The 22-year-old outfielder still isn't tapping into his raw power consistently, but if James Wood gets promoted to the majors soon, Crews could get bumped up to Triple-A Rochester at the same time.

Out with hamstring Crews has been out of the Double-A Harrisburg lineup since April 17 due to a hamstring issue and remains out of the lineup Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact It was previously known that Crews was out of the lineup due to a minor injury , but it was undisclosed. The team is being extra cautious with him, but he did run yesterday and appeared to be good. The top prospect is slashing .244/.326/.415 with two home runs and two steals across 10 games this season.
