Impact Proctor made the start at second base Thursday. He hit a grand slam in his first at-bat, which counted as his first home run and second hit in the majors since his first call-up Sept. 24. He's hit 12 homers in each of his last two minor-league seasons. Proctor should continue to get some playing time as an infielder, as his natural position of catcher is occupied by Joey Bart and Austin Wynns.

Impact Proctor was traded from the Rays to the Giants at the beginning of August and will make his major-league debut Saturday against Arizona. He's starting at the keystone and batting eighth against the Diamondbacks and will likely have a chance to carve out playing time in the big leagues after Luis Gonzalez (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list.
