Back in big leagues The Twins called up Celestino from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Impact Celestino played the first 10 games of his big-league career earlier this month but accomplished very little at the plate, slashing .125/.152/.250. He was optioned back to the minors Friday, but he'll be eligible to return just four days later as a replacement for Byron Buxton, who broke his hand Monday in his third game back from the injured list. Celestino will start in center field in Tuesday's game against the Reds, but since he's a right-handed hitter, the 22-year-old may be slated for a short-side platoon role at the position with either Nick Gordon or Max Kepler while Buxton is on the shelf.
