Notches third save Gallegos struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning and earned a save over the Reds on Monday.

Impact Gallegos got the ninth-inning nod and wasted no time finishing off the 3-1 victory. It was his second save in August after going over three months since his first one on April 24. The 30-year-old righty is sporting a 3.02 ERA alongside a 74:15 K:BB through 65.2 innings. With Alex Reyes in the midst of a rough stretch, this may not be the last save Gallegos sees in 2021.

Grabs 22nd hold despite trouble Gallegos secured his 22nd hold in a win over the Pirates on Friday despite allowing an earned run on three hits over one inning.

Impact Gallegos created some trouble for himself by allowing a run on a Colin Moran single before recording an out. However, he bounced back to retire the next two batters and then was blessed with some good fortune when Moran was thrown out at the plate to end the frame. The right-hander did see a six-appearance scoreless streak snapped with Friday's stumble, but he still sports a 3.11 ERA and 0.90 WHIP alongside a 10.2 K/9 and a career-high holds tally.

Impact Gallegos worked around a bit of trouble of his own doing, throwing 26 pitches overall and only getting 15 into the strike zone. Nevertheless, he was able to preserve what was a one-run lead at the time and establish a new career high-water mark in holds. The right-hander has now rattled off four straight scoreless appearances after giving up three earned runs apiece in back-to-back outings Aug. 4 and 5.

Impact Gallegos retired the side in order to secure his second save. It was a much-needed outing from him since he received a loss in his last two appearances. The 29-year-old has a 3.30 ERA and an impressive 0.80 WHIP in 57.1 innings. Gallegos may receive more future save opportunities given the recent struggles from Alex Reyes.
