Impact Holman's outing was as abysmal as his final line implies, with the young right-hander suffering his worst outing of the season by far. After loading the bases to open the final frame, Holman surrendered back-to-back run-scoring singles to Tyler Stephenson and TJ Friedl, the latter sealing a three-run rally for the Reds. Prior to Thursday, Holman had allowed just a single earned run across four innings over his first five big-league appearances following his Aug. 17 promotion from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Impact The 24-year-old reliever has a 0.92 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and a 30:13 K:BB with four wins and three saves in 29.1 innings over 23 appearances in the Pacific Coast League. Holman, a righty, won't be unseating Mason Miller in the ninth inning, but he could soon establish himself as one of Oakland's most promising relievers.
