Impact Allen has gone 8-for-15 in the early going with a home run, a stolen base, six RBI and six runs scored. The veteran outfielder joined the Cubs on a minor-league contract last month and will presumably serve as organizational depth during the season, though he's certainly making his case for an MLB role so far.

Impact Allen, who turns 32 in March, spent most of the 2024 season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the Yankees organization, producing a .698 OPS in 58 contests. He'll give the Cubs a veteran capable of playing all three outfield spots and is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Iowa.
