Impact Matt Barnes began the ninth inning staked to a three-run lead. However, he surrendered a solo home run and two walks to the three batters he faced prior to being pulled in favor of Robles. With the winning run at the plate, Robles proceeded to strike out the first two batters he faced before inducing a game-ending groundout. After a rocky start to his tenure in Boston, Robles has now turned in six consecutive scoreless appearances. Barnes is in the midst of a lengthy slump on the mound, so it's possible that Robles begins to see some save opportunities.

Impact Robles hasn't pitched since Tuesday when he surrendered four runs before exiting with dizziness and lightheadedness, but he's apparently healthy enough to pass a physical. The 30-year-old was in the closer's mix with the Twins but is unlikely to see those chances for the Red Sox with a 4.91 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 43:24 K:BB in 45 appearances this year.
