Links up with Dodgers Alberto agreed Sunday with the Dodgers on a one-year contract, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Impact According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, Alberto's contract is an MLB deal, so he'll be added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster and therefore should be in good position to make the Opening Day club as a reserve infielder. While receiving 1,036 plate appearances between stops with the Orioles and Royals over the past three seasons, Alberto's high-contact approach has yielded a .292 batting average, but a lack of power and speed along with his presence in relatively weak lineups hasn't made him an especially interesting fantasy commodity. He'll get an upgrade in team context with the move to Los Angeles, but unless the Dodgers' position depth is severely tested in 2022, Alberto may not play enough to warrant intrigue even in NL-only leagues.
