ImpactWillems will take the next step in his professional career after producing a .238 average with 13 home runs, 51 RBI, 40 runs scored and a stolen base over 82 games with High-A Aberdeen this season. The catcher will attempt to take advantage of his promotion and impress at the Double-A level.

Samuel Basallo - Moving to Triple-AThe Orioles promoted Basallo from Double-A Bowie to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ImpactThe 20-year-old is one of the top prospects in baseball and will now make his way to the highest level of the minors. Basallo appeared in 104 games for Bowie this season and posted a .285/.353/.455 slash line with 15 homers and nine steals. Adley Rutschman is locked in as Baltimore's backstop, but Basallo should still have a chance to make his major-league debut in 2025, assuming he's able to handle Triple-A pitching.

Nick Vespi - Dumped from 40-man rosterThe Orioles designated Vespi for assignment on Sunday, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
ImpactThe left-hander was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday and has now lost his place on Baltimore's 40-man roster. Vespi has a 2.92 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 12.1 major-league innings this year, though he's struggled to a 7.71 ERA at Triple-A.

Brooks Kriske - Claimed by BaltimoreThe Orioles claimed Kriske off waivers and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
ImpactThe 30-year-old was designated for assignment by the Reds on Thursday, and the Orioles claimed him to bolster their organization pitching depth. Kriske has spent the full season at Triple-A to this point and has a 3.06 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 73:32 K:BB over 50 innings.

Cedric Mullins - Takes batting practice SundayMullins (quadriceps) took part in the Orioles' batting practice ahead of their matchup with the Astros on Sunday, Taylor Lyons of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ImpactMullins was ruled out of the lineup for the second game in a row due to a quadriceps injury he suffered Friday, but his participation in batting practice is a positive sign. Baltimore has a day off Monday before they'll launch a three-game series on the road against the Dodgers on Tuesday and Mullins can be considered day-to-day for the time being.
