Chris Rodríguez - Out with lat strainRodriguez was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday with a right lat strain, Daniel Guerrero of MLB.com reports.
ImpactHe was optioned to the minors Wednesday after starting one half of Tuesday's doubleheader, and it appears he suffered the lat injury either during that start or during a side session afterwards. Rodriguez was a strong candidate to return to the majors in short order, but now he should be considered out indefinitely.

ImpactGurriel will wind up missing just one day more than the minimum with a neck strain. Kyle Tucker landed on the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.

Kyle Tucker - Out due to protocolsTucker was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday due to health and safety protocols, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
ImpactThere haven't yet been reports that Tucker has tested positive for the virus himself, which leaves open the possibility that he could return within a few days. For now, Jake Meyers will get the start in right field Saturday against the Angels, with Yuli Gurriel (neck) returning from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Justin Upton - Remains on benchUpton will sit Saturday against the Astros, Daniel Guerrero of MLB.com reports.
ImpactUpton finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in five games. He's struggled significantly since returning from a back injury in late June, hitting .143/.217/.222. Jo Adell starts in left field in his absence, with Adam Eaton starting in right.

Alex Cobb - Not close to returnAngels manager Joe Maddon said Thursday that Cobb's injured right wrist has not responded well to treatment and that the right-hander isn't ready to return, per MLB.com.
ImpactWhen scans of Cobb's wrist taken shortly after he was placed on the injured list at the end of July revealed no structural damage, the belief was that the veteran hurler would not need an extended absence. That no longer appears to be the case, as Cobb has already been out over two weeks and still hasn't resumed throwing, according to the Associated Press. Cobb could still return to the big club before the end of the month, but only if the injured wrist begins to progress soon.
