Kyle Tyler - Forced to IL with toe sprainTyler was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right toe sprain, retroactive to Wednesday.
ImpactTyler has allowed four runs on eight hits while posting a 6:6 K:BB across 12.1 innings since receiving his first big-league call-up in late August. It's not entirely clear how the right-hander suffered the toe injury, but it could very possibly end his season. Tyler will be eligible to come off the injured list for the final two games of the regular season, but it's to be seen if he'll be ready in time.

Jhonathan Diaz - Recalled by AngelsDiaz was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
ImpactDiaz made his first major-league start Friday and allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two in 1.2 innings. Although he worked mainly as a starter in Salt Lake, he'll likely serve as a long reliever for the Angels.

Yordan Alvarez - Returns to lineupAlvarez (soreness) is starting Friday's game against the Athletics, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
ImpactAlvarez missed Thursday's series finale against the Angels due to "overall body soreness," but he's feeling better Friday. The 24-year-old will serve as the designated hitter and bat fourth.

Peter Solomon - Rejoins major-league rosterSolomon was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Friday's game against Oakland, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactSolomon was optioned to Houston's taxi squad Monday after earning the win while logging four innings Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Zack Greinke's (neck) move to the injured list opens up a spot for the right-hander to return to the Astros' bullpen for the series opener in Oakland, and he figures to be an option to provide length behind spot starter Brandon Bielak.

Brandon Bielak - Starting in place of GreinkeBielak will start in place of Zack Greinke on Friday against Oakland after Greinke was placed on the 10-day injured list with neck soreness, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicl...
ImpactBielak's last major-league outing also came in a spot start Sept. 17 against Arizona. He logged 2.2 scoreless innings during that start before being optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land, although he returned to the Astros just two days later. Bielak figures to have a hard time working deep into Friday's game given that he hasn't eclipsed 3.1 innings all season.

Shohei Ohtani - Draws three more free passesOhtani went 0-for-1 with three walks, a run and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Astros.
ImpactOhtani hasn't had much of a chance to swing the bat lately, as he has racked up seven walks in his past two games. Fortunately for fantasy managers who roster him, Ohtani's speed gives him fantasy value even when he isn't knocking the ball out of the park. The two-way star has doubled his career high with 24 thefts on the campaign, tied for eighth-most in baseball.
