ImpactBannon was designated for assignment by the Astros over the weekend but will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old went 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in the big leagues this season but has a .779 OPS with 15 home runs in 81 games at Triple-A.

ImpactThe 27-year-old was sent to Sugar Land on Aug. 21 and will rejoin the MLB roster with Ryne Stanek (ankle) landing on the injured list. Mushinski has appeared in 12 big-league games this season and has a 4.73 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over 13.1 innings.

Ryne Stanek - Lands on injured listStanek was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right ankle sprain.
ImpactThe right-hander suffered the injury while covering first base during Monday's win over the Rangers and will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. It's unclear how long Stanek is expected to be sidelined, but he'll be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 20.
