Impact Happ connected for his fourth home run of the season in the eighth inning against Wander Suero. It's a good sign for the outfielder, who's been struggling this season with a .192 batting average. He also missed 11 days with a left rib contusion. Happ has seen Willson Contreras take over as the team's leadoff hitter in the meantime, but perhaps the home run Tuesday and a lower spot in the order will help him settle into a groove moving forward.

Impact Happ came a triple shy of the cycle and made his presence felt at the bottom of the Cubs lineup, scoring a run in the third, hitting an RBI double in the fourth and adding a solo shot in the sixth. Unlikely to return Friday Happ (ribs) is unlikely to be reinstated from the injured list Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Impact Happ has been on the 10-day injured list since May 4, so Friday marked the first day that he'd be eligible to return. Impact The move comes as no surprise, as Happ hasn't taken the field since colliding with teammate Nico Hoerner (forearm) on Tuesday. Hoerner has also been placed on the injured list. Happ's transaction was backdated by three days, so he'll be eligible to return next Friday, though it remains to be seen whether or not the Cubs expect him to do so. Nick Martini was recalled in a corresponding move.
