Off injured list Hurtubise (undisclosed) was reinstated from Triple-A Louisville's 7-day injured list Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact The 26-year-old has been sidelined for the past two and a half weeks due to an undisclosed injury, but he's now healthy and back on Louisville's active roster. Hurtubise received his first taste of the big leagues earlier this season and struggled to a .185/.297/.241 slash line in 29 games.

Injured at Triple-A Triple-A Louisville placed Hurtubise on its 7-day injured list Friday with an unspecified injury.

Impact Hurtubise received his first taste of the big leagues in mid-May and stuck around with the Reds through June 21, when he was optioned to Louisville after going 0-for-14 over his final nine games with the big club. Since that time, Hurtubise turned in an underwhelming .215/.339/.290 slash line with one home run and eight stolen bases in 30 games with Louisville before succumbing to an injury.

Impact Since TJ Friedl (thumb) landed on the 10-day injured list, Will Benson had handled leadoff duties against right-handers, but manager David Bell moved the rookie to the top of the order Tuesday. It's unclear if this will remain the manager's practice going forward. Hurtubise has two hits and two walks over 13 plate appearances since being called up from Triple-A Louisville.

Joins 40-man The Reds added Hurtubise to their 40-man roster Tuesday.

Impact After slashing an impressive .327/.477/.474 across 451 plate appearances between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville last season, Hurtubise will be protected from being taken away from the Reds in the Rule 5 Draft. If Hurtubise is able to stay hot at the plate in 2024, there's a chance the 25-year-old outfielder cracks the big-league roster at some point in the season.
