Claimed by Dodgers Jewell was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers from the Cubs on Tuesday. Impact Jewell was DFA'd by Chicago after allowing 11 earned runs across 10 major-league innings. The right-hander has had a strong year at Triple-A Iowa, however, posting a 2.78 ERA and 35:13 K:BB in 32.1 innings of work. He'll be added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster along with fellow reliever Ryan Meisinger, who also moves from the Cubs to Los Angeles in a waiver claim. It's not clear where Jewell will report, but he could be an option to join the big-league club when rosters expand to 28 on Wednesday.
