Nets MLB deal from Mets The Mets signed Young to a one-year contract Monday.

Impact Young split the 2024 season between Triple-A Memphis in the Cardinals organization and with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization, posting a .917 OPS at the former and a 1.080 OPS at the latter. The Mets have very little in the way of depth at first base right now, but Young is nonetheless likely to begin 2025 at Triple-A Syracuse.

Headed to Korea The Cardinals transferred Young to the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization in exchange for cash considerations.

Impact Young was removed from St. Louis' 40-man roster just before Opening Day and now is headed overseas to continue his career. The 29-year-old had been at Triple-A Memphis, where he slashed .285/.411/.506 with 11 homers over 74 games.

Recalled, starting Sunday Young was recalled from the Arizona Complex League and is starting at first base Sunday against the Brewers.

Impact The 28-year-old was just demoted Wednesday but will quickly rejoin the big club with Nico Hoerner (knee) ending the season on the injured list. Young has played in 15 major-league games this season and has a .792 OPS with two homers, two steals and eight RBI in 43 plate appearances.

Most of his time was spent in Triple-A, where he slashed .228/.309/.415 over 455 plate appearances. Whether or not he will return to the Cubs' 40-man roster will likely depend on if he can improve on those numbers in 2023.
