Impact The rumors are true: The Martian is on his way. Dominguez got off to a somewhat underwhelming start this season in the minors, but he flipped the script in early July and has now rocketed to the majors at age 20 after slashing .348/.419/.507 with five homers and 21 steals across his last 50 games between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Dominguez figures to play regularly down the stretch for an out-of-contention Yankees team and is dripping with long-term fantasy upside.

Moving up to Triple-A The Yankees will promote Dominguez from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Brendan Kuty and Chris Kirschner of The Athletic report.
Impact After dropping their last eight games to fall four games under .500, the Yankees appear to have waved the white flag on contending for a playoff spot this season and will likely shift into evaluation mode over the final six weeks of the campaign. As such, the Yankees will promote two of their top prospects from Triple-A in Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza to the big leagues Tuesday, while Dominguez will get the bump up from Double-A to fill one of the open roster spots at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 20-year-old power-hitting outfielder has posted a .781 OPS in 109 games overall for Somerset this season, but he's been running especially hot since the All-Star break. Through his first 33 games of the second half, Dominguez slashed .354/.416/.549 while keeping his strikeout rate under 20 percent. He'll look to make a splash at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in September with the hope of contending for a spot on the Yankees' Opening Day roster in 2024.

Heating up for Patriots Dominguez is hitting .380 with three home runs, eight steals and a 19.1 percent strikeout rate in 18 games this month for Double-A Somerset.
Impact The Martian had been a bit unlucky earlier this season on balls in play, but he is swinging a hot bat lately, bumping his season line to .254/.367/.414 with 15 home runs and 37 steals in 109 games. Dominguez, who won't turn 21 until February, has been 17 percent better (117 wRC+) than the average Eastern League hitter despite being one of the youngest players at Double-A.

Impact Dominguez is the fourth-youngest qualified hitter at Double-A (behind Jackson Chourio, Deyvison De Los Santos and Edgar Quero) and his .269 BABIP is well below his career norms. He is perhaps being a little too patient, with walks (17.7 percent) and strikeouts (28.4 percent) making up 46.1 percent of his 345 plate appearances.

Heating up at plate Dominguez has reached base in seven straight games with Double-A Somerset, slashing .346/.485/.615 with two homers, eight RBI, a stolen base and a 7:5 BB:K over that stretch.
Impact After making a big splash with the Yankees in spring training, Dominguez struggled mightily over his first 19 contests with Somerset this season, batting just .125 with two homers. He appears to be getting on track, however, and has boosted his season average closer to the Mendoza line at .195. Despite his overall struggles on the campaign, the 20-year-old has displayed elite patience at the plate with a 25.5 percent walk rate, leading to an outstanding .402 on-base percentage. He's also swiped 10 bags in 11 attempts so far.
