Shut down for season The Padres aren't expecting Guerra (elbow) to return from the 60-day injured list to pitch in 2021,Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Impact Guerra has been on the IL all season with a sprained UCL in his right elbow, but the Padres haven't formally announced that he'll require Tommy John surgery to address the injury. Even so, the 25-year-old apparently isn't on the verge of beginning a rehab assignment, so he'll be shut down for the season and turn his focus to getting healthy for next spring. Guerra is one of eight Padres pitchers currently residing on the IL who has been ruled out for the season.
