Delivers clutch homer Davis went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run Thursday against the Yankees.

Impact Davis was hitless coming to the plate in the ninth inning, but delivered a solo home run against Aroldis Chapman to knot the game at seven. He was out of the lineup for two games due to a hip injury, but managed to retake the field and slug his first home run since Aug. 18. Overall, Davis has put together a .274/.390/.427 line with five home runs, 17 runs scored and 13 RBI across 141 plate appearances.

Impact Davis sat for a pair of games after getting hit in the hip by a pitch on Sunday. He's evidently now ready to hit, though he's not yet ready to take the field. It's possible he finds himself serving as the designated hitter more often going forward even when fully healthy, as new addition Todd Frazier should spent a fair amount of time at the hot corner, where he'll be playing Wednesday.
