Impact Making his first big-league start since late 2021, Ross threw only 38 of 73 pitches for strikes before being lifted, although he was able to avoid any damage from all the traffic he put on the basepaths. Despite the shaky outing, he might not be in much danger of losing his spot in the rotation for the time being. Per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee will likely need to use a six-man rotation over the next month, as the team is scheduled for 13 games in a row and 26 over the next 27 days.

Starting Wednesday vs. Twins Ross will start Wednesday's game against the Twins, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Impact Ross hasn't pitched in the majors since 2021 and had a 4.50 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 12 innings during spring training. Wade Miley is on the injured list with a shoulder impingement, but the expectation is that he will join the rotation sometime around April 9 or later that week. Once Miley returns, Ross would be a candidate to move to long relief.

Gets MLB deal from Brewers Ross signed a one-year, major-league contract with the Brewers on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Impact Ross has thrown a combined 17 innings over the last two seasons -- none of them at the major-league level -- following a second Tommy John surgery. However, that hasn't stopped the Brewers from handing the right-hander a major-league deal in hopes that he's healthy and ready to contribute in 2024. Ross, 30, holds a career 4.26 ERA and 403:141 K:BB over 443.1 innings at the big-league level.
