Avoids arbitration Brebbia and the Giants avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to terms on a one-year, $837,500 contract, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Impact Brebbia struggled to a 5.89 ERA in 18.1 innings of relief for the Giants last season, but his underlying numbers paint a more optimistic picture of that small sample. His 25.3 percent strikeout rate was slightly above average, while his 4.6 percent walk rate was quite strong. Still, that doesn't add up to much more than a middle reliever if things break right for the veteran righty next season.
