Impact Gant only threw five pitches in relief Sunday before leaving the game with trainers as a result of his injury. The right-hander's arm is certainly built up for plenty of work akin to what he's logged thus far, considering he covered 66.1 innings over a career-high 64 appearances in 2019.

The timing of Gallegos' arrival could impact his availability once games start toward the end of July. He's pegged as the closer with Jordan Hicks (elbow) beginning the season on the injured list, but if Gallegos is also unavailable duties could fall to Ryan Helsley, John Gant or Andrew Miller.
