Closes Coliseum with win Ginn (1-1) picked up the win Thursday against Texas, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Impact The 25-year-old rookie logged his first MLB victory Thursday in front of a sold-out crowd for the Athletics' final game at the Oakland Coliseum. Ginn's now surrendered two or fewer runs in back-to-back starts, and he owns a 4.45 ERA across six starts (30.1 innings) this season. Ginn also tallied a 25:6 K:BB as a starter.

Steady versus Yankees Ginn allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Friday.

Impact Ginn completed five frames for the fourth time in his five starts this year, and this was one of his better performances. He limited the damage to a game-tying RBI single by Anthony Volpe in the fifth inning. Ginn hasn't looked uncomfortable at the major-league level, turning in an acceptable 4.40 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB over 28.2 innings across seven outings. His last start of the campaign is tentatively set to be at home versus the Rangers.

Roughed up in no decision Ginn did not factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox. He pitched four innings and allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out three.

Impact Ginn was knocked around by the White Sox, giving up three or more hits in each of the first three innings on Saturday. The rookie right-hander was making his fourth consecutive start after pitching in relief in his first two professional appearances. This was Ginn's first start in which he doesn't complete five innings, but he's allowed multiple runs in each of those four starts. The 25-year-old will carry a 4.94 ERA into his next start, currently scheduled against the Yankees.

Impact Ginn gave up two runs in the third inning and another in the fourth, leaving the game with the Athletics trailing 3-0. A comeback wasn't in the cards after Ross Stripling surrendered six runs in the eighth inning, leaving Ginn with his first loss in five major-league appearances (three starts). He's pitched to a 4.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Ginn's next outing is projected to be a favorable road matchup versus the White Sox.

Impact Ginn had a rocky start to the game, allowing a single and back-to-back doubles before striking out the side in the opening frame. He blanked the Mariners the rest of the way while only allowing two more base hits despite 10 of the 14 balls in play against him being hard hit. The 25-year-old righty seems likely to get an extended look in the rotation over the final month of the season and projects to take the mound again versus the Tigers over the weekend. Drawing another start Ginn is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Mariners in Oakland.

Impact Ginn will receive a second turn through the rotation after he surrendered four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings in his first MLB start this past Thursday in Cincinnati. The Athletics will likely give the 25-year-old right-hander some runway in a starting role during September as he looks to make a case for a permanent spot in the big-league rotation in 2025.

Impact Given that his first major-league start came in hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, this was an acceptable performance for Ginn. With the Athletics well out of the mix for playoff contention heading into the final month of the season, Ginn could end up being part of a six-man rotation, though the club will likely wait and see how he fares in his first MLB start Thursday before determining how he'll be used moving forward. Prior to his call-up last week, Ginn turned in a 5.72 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 69:30 K:BB over 72.1 innings across 15 outings (14 starts) with Las Vegas in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

Impact Ginn was promoted from Double-A Midland to Las Vegas on May 11, and he has since posted a 5.72 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 72.1 innings. Despite his lackluster performance, he'll be called upon to fill the open spot in Oakland's pitching staff created by Scott Alexander's (shoulder) move to the injured list. The 25-year-old Ginn has worked almost exclusively as a starter throughout his career in the minors, though he'll likely be used as a long reliever while in the big leagues.
