Impact In two appearances since being selected from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Bermudez allowed four earned runs across three innings while striking out one batter and walking two. He'll now give up his spot on the 40-man roster for Jeff Lindgren, who was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move, and Bermudez will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

First major-league start Wednesday Bermudez will make his first major-league start Wednesday against the Pirates, Stephen Storm of the Marlins Radio Network reports.

Impact Bermudez's first two appearances with the Marlins have come in relief, but 17 of his 20 outings between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville have been starts. His last start came more than three weeks ago, however, so the lefty will likely be a bit limited in how deep he'll be able to go into Wednesday's affair.
