Impact Polanco provided the final run of the Mariners' breakout night, belting a 421-foot shoot to left center in the fourth inning with Cal Raleigh aboard. The veteran infielder was one of several struggling Seattle bats to snap out of slumps with big hits Friday, and he's now left the yard twice in his last five games.

Impact Polanco got going with a 394-foot solo blast to right center off Ronel Blanco to extend the Mariners' lead to 3-1. He later singled in the sixth and came around to score on a three-run homer from Luke Raley. Polanco's home run was his first since May 3 and his sixth on the year. He has three multi-hit games since July 9 after having after having just two such games entering the month. It's been a struggle offensively overall for the 30-year-old, as he's slashing .205/.291/.304 with 19 RBI, 20 runs and a 24:79 BB:K in 251 plate appearances.

Impact It was a rare multi-hit effort for the struggling veteran, who'd last accomplished that feat on May 4. Polanco had been mired in a 1-for-12 skid over the previous four games entering Tuesday, a brief but nightmarish stretch where he'd struck out in eight of his 14 plate appearances. Polanco's season slash line still stands at a career-worst .196/.288/.289, and with the sample size now having grown to 219 plate appearances, it's fair to wonder how much improvement it will realistically see over the remainder of the season.
