Impact Though Jung isn't in the lineup for Monday's series opener in St. Louis, he finally looks to be back to full health after undergoing right wrist surgery in early April. Jung was pulled off his rehab assignment in late June after experienced renewed soreness in the wrist, but he checked out fine after playing in three games at Double-A Frisco over the weekend while going 4-for-10 with a double and two RBI. Look for Jung to return to Texas' lineup Tuesday and settle back in as the club's everyday third baseman.

Resumes rehab assignment Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Jung (wrist) is "doing great" after playing rehab games for Double-A Frisco on Friday and Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Impact Jung, who had his original rehab assignment paused in June, restarted it over the weekend, going 2-for-7 in the two games. The Rangers will evaluate the injured third baseman Monday, at which point the club will determine next steps. Options include playing another rehab series in Triple-A or a return to the major-league club.

Impact Jung had previously played in four rehab games with Triple-A Round Rock from June 16 through 20, only to be pulled off the minor-league assignment when he experienced renewed soreness in his surgically repaired wrist. Just over a month later, Jung is ready for game action again after he was able to make quick progress through his hitting progression over the past week. Impact Jung was cleared to hit Tuesday following a visit with the doctor that performed the surgery on his right wrist in early April. He hit for a second straight day Wednesday while using a lighter bat, with Bochy saying afterward that "you'd think he was going to be ready in a couple of days" based on how he looked. Jung is not going to be ready to return soon, of course, but this is an encouraging progress report. A clearer timetable for the third baseman could be established in the coming days.
