Not starting Saturday Naylor isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Impact Naylor had started every game for Cleveland to begin the season and went 5-for-22 with two doubles, one run and six strikeouts. Jordan Luplow will lead off and play right field during Saturday's matchup.

Singles twice in win Naylor went 2-for-4 with two singles in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Kansas City.

Impact The outfielder has now hit safely in four of five games this season, standing out in the middle of an otherwise unremarkable Cleveland lineup. Naylor struggled to the tune of a .230 average after being dealt from San Diego last season, but his bat has shown promise thus far in 2021 and he looks locked into a starting role.

Impact The lefty-hitting Naylor has now started in each of Cleveland's first four games, with three of those assignments coming against southpaws. Through his first three games, Naylor has gone 3-for-12 with a pair of doubles and a run.

Impact Cleveland has played Naylor exclusively in the outfield this spring as Jake Bauers and Bobby Bradley compete for the first base job. Naylor could find himself on the strong side of a platoon, but the job appears to be his to lose. He's hitting .214/.267/.357 with zero home runs, two strikeouts and one walk in 14 at-bats during Cactus League play. Prospect Daniel Johnson has outperformed Naylor thus far, but all indications are that Johnson will get more seasoning in the minors to start the year.

Impact Naylor hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and was the only Indians player to really give Gerrit Cole trouble as he recorded four hits. The 23-year-old slashed .247/.291/.330 throughout the 2020 regular season and will look to contribute Wednesday in Game 2.
