Activated and optioned The Pirates activated Palacios (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact Palacios is done with his rehab assignment from a strained left hamstring but the Pirates have elected to keep him at Indianapolis rather than add him to the big-league roster. He's put up a .663 OPS in 20 games with Pittsburgh this season.

Impact Palacios has been shelved for the last week with a left hamstring strain. Because his absence has been brief, it would seem he has a shot to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible on Aug. 10. Palacios had been seeing regular reps in right field against right-handers before getting injured, but he could return as a backup following the Pirates' acquisition of Bryan De La Cruz.
