Impact St. Louis designated reliever Seth Elledge for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Yepez, who will provide the Cardinals with an extra right-handed-hitting power bat off the bench. After an early-season promotion from Double-A Springfield, Yepez slashed .289/.382/.589 with 47 extra-base hits and a 19.4 percent strikeout rate over 356 plate appearances with Memphis.
