Impact Manager Scott Servais' decision to stick with Rodriguez through some fairly significant growing pains at the plate appears to be paying off. The precocious 21-year-old has now reached safely in six of his last seven games, boosting his season average 75 points to .211 in the process.

Impact Rodriguez singled in the second, was hit by a pitch and stole a base in the fourth and reached on a fielder's choice and swiped a base in the ninth. He leads all of baseball with eight steals and has yet to be caught trying. With hits in five of the last six contests, he's raised his average to .194 but is still in search of his first big-league homer. While he tries to figure it out at the plate, he's contributing on the basepaths and in the field.

Impact After failing to reach in his first three plate appearances, Rodriguez singled in the ninth and was intentionally walked in the 11th. His ninth-inning stolen base was his sixth of the season. The 21-year-old has hit safely in six of his last seven contests, going 8-for-28 with three walks and four stolen bases over that span.

Impact Seattle produced very little offense Monday, and Rodriguez was one of only two Mariners to reach third base as a result of drawing a walk, stealing second and advancing another base on a throwing error in the third inning. The theft was the first of the talented rookie's big-league career, but he showed plenty of acumen in that area with 21 steals in 26 attempts between High-A and Double-A last season.
