Tyler Zuber - Returns to majors The Royals recalled Zuber from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact Kansas City was able to bring Zuber back on the 28-man active roster less than 10 days after demoting him since starting pitcher Brady Singer (arm) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday in a corresponding move. Zuber should stick with the big club for its remaining five games of the season, likely working in a low-leverage role out of the bullpen.

Brady Singer - Shut down for season The Royals placed Singer on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right upper arm inflammation, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact Kansas City has little on the line with five games left in the season, so it makes sense for the club to shut down Singer, who exited his outing Tuesday against Cleveland with the injury. Follow-up scans cleared Singer of any structural damage to his arm, so he'll seemingly be in store for a normal offseason once the soreness and discomfort subsides. He'll conclude his second big-league campaign with a 5-10 record, 4.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 131:53 K:BB in 128.1 innings over 27 starts.

Angel Zerpa - Making MLB debut Thursday The Royals will call up Zerpa from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday to start the team's series finale with Cleveland at Kauffman Stadium, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact The 22-year-old lefty will be taking the rotation spot of Brady Singer (upper arm), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Zerpa began the season at High-A Quad Cities and submitted a 2.59 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 41.2 innings, but he's faltered during his brief time in the upper levels of the minors. Between stops at Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Zerpa has compiled a 6.36 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 55:20 K:BB across 46.2 frames.

Michael A. Taylor - Lands extension with Kansas City Taylor signed a two-year, $9 million contract extension with the Royals on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact In his first season in Kansas City, Taylor has been a decent back-end fantasy contributor with a .244 average, 14 home runs and 14 stolen bases, but his 79 wRC+ has made him less than productive at the dish from a real-life standpoint. Kansas City still deemed Taylor worthy of an extension largely due to his elite defense in center field; the 30-year-old currently ranks first among all outfielders this season in Outs Above Average, Defensive Runs Saved and Ultimate Zone Rating.
