Salvador Perez - Expects to return FridayPerez (back) said he expects to return to the Royals' lineup Friday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
ImpactPerez sat out Wednesday and is absent again Thursday after taking a 95 mph fastball off his back in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of concern. He is planning to take pregame batting practice Thursday to see if he might be an option off the bench in the Royals' series opener against the Twins.

Salvador Perez - Absent from lineupPerez is not in the Royals' lineup for Thursday's game in Minnesota.
ImpactIt would appear to be a routine day off for the slugger. With Perez resting, MJ Melendez will do the catching.

Tommy Henry - Draws another startHenry is listed as Arizona's probable starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.
ImpactThough Triple-A Reno starter Brandon Pfaadt is gaining momentum for a move into the Arizona rotation, the Diamondbacks should still have spots available for both Pfaadt and Henry, as the team currently has four starters on the active roster at the moment with Madison Bumgarner having recently been released, Drey Jameson getting demoted to the minors and Zach Davies (oblique) on the injured list. Henry likely won't have a long leash, however, after he labored through 4.1 innings while giving up three runs on four hits and four walks against the Royals in a no-decision Monday. The southpaw doesn't make for an inspiring streaming option as he makes his second turn of the week in the thin air of Colorado.

Andrew Chafin - Notches fourth saveChafin walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his fourth save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Royals.
ImpactThe lefty continued his impressive start to the season, as Chafin has been scored upon in only one of his first 12 appearances so far. That one outing did result in his only blown save, but he still appears to be solidifying his hold on the closer role for Arizona, posting a 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB through 10.1 innings.

Zac Gallen - Extends scoreless streakGallen (4-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the Royals, scattering four hits without walking a batter in 6.1 scoreless innings while striking out 12.
ImpactThe right-hander has been all but untouchable lately, as he extended his scoreless streak to 28 innings while fanning double-digits batters for the third time in his last four starts. Gallen produced 17 swinging strikes among his 97 pitches, and he'll take a dazzling 2.15 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 51:5 K:BB through 37.2 innings into his next outing, which is likely to come next week on the road against the Rangers.
APRIL 27, 2023ROTOWIRE
Ryan Yarbrough - Stuck with tough loss WednesdayYarbrough (0-3) took the loss Wednesday as the Royals were downed 2-0 by the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two.
ImpactThe southpaw wasn't fully stretched out and lasted only 77 pitches (51 strikes) in his first start of the season, but Yarbrough did a solid job even if he did get out-dueled by a red-hot Zac Gallen. Yarbrough figures to stick in the rotation at least until Daniel Lynch (shoulder) is ready to return, but his 6.35 ERA and 7:4 K:BB through 17 innings to begin the season don't hint at much fantasy upside. He'll try to last long enough to qualify for his first win of 2023 in his next outing, likely to come at home early next week against the Orioles.

Jordan Lawlar - Plays hero in comebackLawlar went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI for Double-A Amarillo in Wednesday's comeback win over Frisco.
ImpactLawlar figured prominently in the Sod Poodles' improbable comeback. With Amarillo trailing 11-1 in the seventh inning, Lawler jacked a three-run homer to begin the comeback. The team scored another seven runs in the eighth before Lawlar walked off the RoughRiders with a single in the 10th. The Diamondbacks' highly regarded shortstop prospect has an .835 OPS with four homers, two doubles, 12 RBI, six steals and nine runs through 15 games.
