Goes hitless in spring finaleMondesi went 0-for-2 in Monday's 5-4 win over Cleveland to conclude Cactus League play with a .303/.343/.606 slash line across 33 at-bats.
ImpactMondesi was slightly delayed to begin spring training due to a sore foot, but the 25-year-old didn't need much time to settle in at the dish. As has been the knock on Mondesi for much of his career, his plate discipline left something to be desired this spring (2:10 BB:K), but his blend of power (five extra-base hits) and speed (two stolen bases in two attempts) continues to make him an intriguing building block for fantasy managers willing to chase upside in the early rounds of drafts. Mondesi's willingness to run in an era when steals are becoming increasingly hard to come by is especially valuable; in 308 career regular-season games, Mondesi has collected 113 stolen bases on an efficient 138 attempts (81.8 percent success rate).

Reaches base four timesFuentes went 4-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Sunday's spring loss to the Royals.
ImpactFuentes smacked a double in the bottom of the first inning and drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the third. The 28-year-old has now hit .333 with one home run, 11 RBI and eight runs this spring. Although C.J. Cron will serve as the primary first baseman for the Rockies this year, Fuentes could see an uptick in playing time at third base over the first few weeks of the season while Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is unavailable.

Optioned to Triple-ALopez was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.
ImpactLopez appeared to be the favorite to start at second base to begin camp, but he struggled during spring training and will begin the season at Triple-A Omaha as a result. The 26-year-old hit just .118 with one double, four RBI and 13 strikeouts in 16 Cactus League games. Whit Merrifield could now shift to second base to begin the year with Jarrod Dyson potentially starting in center field.

Tosses scoreless frameDiaz allowed two hits and no walks while striking out one over one scoreless inning in Saturday's spring loss to the White Sox.
ImpactDiaz allowed three runs during his last outing, but he was able to keep the White Sox in check during the fourth inning Saturday. The right-hander has posted a 10.24 ERA and 2.17 WHIP over 9.2 relief innings this spring. Diaz has recorded nine saves across the past two seasons but should serve as a setup man and late reliever in lower-leverage situations to begin the 2021 campaign.
