Matthew Boyd - Looks sharp in win WednesdayBoyd (5-5) allowed two runs on six hits across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Royals. He had no walks and struck out seven.

ImpactBoyd had one of his better starts of the season to earn his second consecutive win. In the two wins, the lefty has gone six innings both times, allowing six earned runs and striking out 15. Boyd still has a mediocre 5.37 ERA overall and is a bit too inconsistent to trust in fantasy leagues, at least for the moment. He'll look for his third straight win in his next outing, which is tentatively set for Monday against the Rangers on the road.

Eric Haase - Drives in three in winHaase went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Royals.

ImpactHaase came in batting just .154 in June with only one multi-hit game this month, so the production was somewhat unexpected. The 30-year-old remains in a timeshare behind the plate with Jake Rogers, which limits the fantasy ceiling of both players. Haase did pop 14 home runs last season and 22 long balls in 2021, however, so the Tigers will likely continue to give him plenty of at-bats as he tries to get going.

Zack Short - Tallies three hits, home runShort went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three total RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Royals.

ImpactDespite batting ninth, Short played a key offensive role in the win. The utility infielder entered the game mired in a 1-for-14 slump, but he bounced back in a big way and is now batting .271 for the season. Short is just a career .180 hitter, however, so it remains to be seen if he can keep up this level of success the rest of the way.
