Kris Bubic - Solid in springBubic has not allowed an earned run over three innings across two Cactus League appearances.
ImpactBubic made his first start of the spring Saturday versus the Brewers and threw two scoreless innings. Despite the solid start, the southpaw is likely facing an uphill battle to get into the rotation after the offseason additions of Jordan Lyles and Ryan Yarbrough (groin). Bubic will likely need to finish the exhibition slate well and hope for one or both of Daniel Lynch and Brad Keller to falter to have a chance of opening the season in the rotation.

Tyler Black - Looks ready for 2023 seasonBlack (thumb) has appeared in five Cactus League games to date and has gone 4-for-6 with two doubles, a walk and two RBI while logging 13 innings at third base.
ImpactBlack's stint in the Arizona Fall League was cut short when he fractured his left thumb while sliding into a base, but he doesn't look to be under any restrictions in spring training. The 22-year-old saw most of his action between second base and the outfield during his time in the minors in 2022, but the Brewers' decision to deploy him exclusively at the hot corner in spring training could be a sign that he'll settle into a regular spot at third base during the upcoming minor-league campaign. Black is expected to begin the year at either High-A Wisconsin or Double-A Biloxi.

Freddy Zamora - Looks healthy for springZamora (undisclosed) made his lone Cactus League appearance back on Feb. 26, playing two innings at shortstop while going 0-for-1 with a strikeout in a 12-6 loss to the Rockies.
ImpactZamora didn't see any minor-league action after May 11 last season due to an unspecified injury, but his brief cameo early in the Cactus League slate is an indication that he's healthy again heading into the 2023 campaign The 24-year-old is likely to report to Double-A Biloxi to open the upcoming season.

Michael Massey - Back in action SundayMassey (ankle) is starting at second base and batting seventh in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Guardians.
ImpactThe 24-year-old suffered the ankle injury when he was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but he'll return to the lineup Sunday after taking a few days off. Massey is expected to begin 2023 as Kansas City's primary second baseman, though he may need to improve upon the .683 OPS he posted last season to retain the job for long.

Garrett Mitchell - Doing wellMitchell (hamstring) is doing well and should return to the lineup in about a week, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.
ImpactMitchell left Thursday's game against the Giants due to right hamstring tightness, and while the injury will cost him some exhibition games, it looks like his readiness for Opening Day won't be affected. Mitchell hit .311 with eight stolen bases and a pair of home runs in 68 plate appearances as a rookie last year and appears set to open the year as Milwaukee's primary center fielder.
