Austin Martin - Reinstated from injured listDouble-A Wichita reinstated Martin (wrist) from its 7-day injured list Wednesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
ImpactMartin sustained a wrist injury while diving for a ball at the beginning of July, but he recently appeared in two rehab games with the Twins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate and went 2-for-8 with a double, three RBI, a run, a stolen base, two walks and a strikeout. The 23-year-old has a strong .371 on-base percentage at Wichita this year, but his .296 slugging percentage leaves something to be desired.

Jake Jewell - Claimed by TwinsJewell was claimed off waivers by the Twins on Wednesday, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ImpactJewell was designated for assignment by Cleveland on Monday but was able to land a 40-man roster spot with the Twins a few days later. Although the right-hander's contract was selected by the Guardians in early August, he'll likely head to Triple-A St. Paul for now. Over 36 relief appearances at Triple-A Columbus this year, Jewell posted a 2.49 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 43.1 innings.

Tyler Mahle - MRI on tapMahle is scheduled to undergo a precautionary MRI after he exited Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Tigers in the third inning with what the Twins described as right shoulder fatigue, P...
ImpactManager Rocco Baldelli said the MRI will reveal if anything is structurally wrong with Mahle's shoulder, but initial examinations of the right-hander revealed nothing overly concerning. Baldelli noted that Mahle is experiencing some acute pain, so even if the MRI comes back clean, the 27-year-old will still need to prove he can throw without discomfort and with his normal velocity to avoid a trip to the IL. He tentatively lines up to make his next start Tuesday in Houston.
