Carlos Correa - Tests positive for COVID-19Correa tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, Audra Martin of Bally Sports North reports.
ImpactCorrea wasn't in the lineup for Monday's matchup against the Tigers, and the Twins found out during the game that the shortstop had tested positive for COVID-19. Since Royce Lewis (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Correa's absence will leave Minnesota particularly shorthanded at shortstop. Jorge Polanco, Nick Gordon and Jose Miranda should be in the mix for additional playing time while Correa is away from the team.

Arodys Vizcaíno - Joins major-league clubVizcaino's contract was selected by the Royals on Monday.
ImpactVizcaino signed a minor-league contract with Kansas City in January and has posted a 1.76 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 15.1 innings over 16 relief appearances at Triple-A Omaha this year. The 31-year-old hasn't made a major-league appearance since 2019 but will serve as an extra bullpen arm after the Royals placed several relievers on the COVID-19 injured list Monday.

Foster Griffin - Recalled by Kansas CityGriffin was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.
ImpactGriffin made a pair of relief appearances for the Royals in mid-May, and he allowed four runs in two innings. The southpaw has been much more effective in Omaha, posting a 1.83 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 19.2 innings over 13 relief appearances. While his first three major-league appearances have come out of the bullpen, Griffin has experience working as a starter in past minor-league seasons. The Royals haven't announced who will fill Zack Greinke's (elbow) spot in the rotation after he was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday, but it's possible that Griffin will be in the mix to take on a starting role.
