Ramón Laureano - Set to face live pitching MondayLaureano (hip) is scheduled to face live pitching Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
ImpactLaureano has been out with a right hip strain since May 27. The center fielder resumed baseball activities earlier this week and will face live pitching Monday. Assuming he comes out of Monday's workout feeling well, the next step will likely be to go on a minor-league rehab assignment. If all goes to plan, Laureano could rejoin the Athletics' lineup within the next week.

Jake Newberry - Clears waiversNewberry was assigned to Triple-A Omaha after clearing waivers Friday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
ImpactNewberry was designated for assignment Monday but didn't draw any interest on the waiver wire. The reliever, who's bounced back and forth between the big club and minors this year, will return to Omaha for the time being. The right-hander has allowed eight earned runs across 4.1 big-league innings this season and the Royals will have to find a way to get him back on the 40-man roster should they decide to give him another shot in the majors later this summer.

Skye Bolt - Hitless in first startBolt started in center field and went 0-for-3 in a loss to the Royals on Thursday.
ImpactThe 27-year-old made his first start since being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on June 1 and came up empty at the plate. Bolt, who raised expectations with a .375/.488/.625 slash line over 80 plate appearances with the Aviators, may have an opportunity to continue seeing occasional playing time while Ramon Laureano (hip) remains sidelined.
