ImpactCarlson got the Cardinals on the board right out of the gate with a leadoff homer, his 12th of the year. He later knocked a sacrifice fly as part of a three-run eighth inning. The 6-foot-2 switch-hitter went 7-for-26 (.226) during an eight-game home run drought entering Sunday's contest. Carlson raised his OPS to .755 through 109 games this season.
