Released and re-signedButera was released by the Rangers on Saturday and re-signed to a minor-league deal, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
ImpactButera was in camp as a non-roster invitee but won't break camp with the team. He'll remain a part of the organization, however, and could get an opportunity should Jose Trevino or Jonah Heim get injured.

Sent to minor-league campIbanez was sent to minor-league camp Saturday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
ImpactIbanez was potentially in the mix to break camp as a designated hitter following injuries to Willie Calhoun (groin) and Khris Davis (quadriceps), but he was always a long shot. He could make his big-league debut at some point this year but isn't on the 40-man roster, so he won't necessarily be one of the first names to get the call.

Sent to minorsTejeda was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
ImpactTejeda appeared in 23 games as a rookie last season, hitting a lopsided .253/.273/.453 and striking out in 39.0 percent of his plate appearances while walking in just 2.6 percent. He previously hadn't played a game above High-A, so it's no surprise the Rangers believe he still needs to work on some things in the upper minors before returning to the big leagues.

Wins bench spotGuzman will make the Rangers' Opening Day roster as a backup first baseman and corner outfielder, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
ImpactGuzman doesn't have a clear starting spot but should still earn the occasional opportunity. There will be extra starts available early in the season with both of the team's primary designated hitter candidates, Willie Calhoun (groin) and Khris Davis (quadriceps), set to open on the injured list.

Wins starting roleLowe was named the Rangers' starting first baseman Saturday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
ImpactLowe's top competitor, Ronald Guzman, has also made the team, but he isn't expected to play regularly at first base. Lowe could potentially thrive with regular at-bats, something he wasn't able to earn in the past two seasons with the Rays. His .215/.322/.447 slash line through his first 71 big-league games is decent, though his 31.8 percent strikeout rate is high for a player who's only shown modest power.
